Infectologist Advises Mask Use Amid H3N2 Flu Threat

Infectologist Advises Mask Use Amid H3N2 Flu Threat

Infectologist Hugo Pizzi recommended “using a mask in enclosed spaces” to avoid getting infected with the H3N2 flu, while stating that its symptoms are “a severe headache and a lot of fatigue”.

“When the flu arrives here, it would be wise to wear a mask in enclosed spaces where the air is stale,” he said in an interview with the program “La Mañana de La 990,” which airs on Splendid AM990, to which the Argentine News Agency (NA) had access.

Furthermore, Pizzi stated: “When COVID came, it had a great destructive capacity, and we didn't know how to defend against it. Now we have been warned that something smaller is coming.”

“In Australia, there was a flu strain change, it moved to New Zealand, and then to England, which had three cities with hospital beds in the hallways.”

“We have been warned, and there are vaccines that I recommend everyone to get,” he expressed.

Meanwhile, the infectologist pointed out: “Some social welfare organizations have decided to provide the vaccine for free because they prefer to spend that money rather than spend it on intensive care.”

“Generally, we all know the symptoms of the flu. In this case, it is a strong headache and a lot of fatigue. With good hydration and rest, a person should be able to recover, but the ideal thing is to see a doctor to prevent more serious effects,” he asserted.

On the other hand, Pizzi commented: “Mendoza fines parents who do not vaccinate their children, 70 families were cited to Justice and all ended up vaccinating their children.”
